Switch exercise routine

Today is my last training of my training schedule. Every 6 weeks I switch to a different schedule because the human body is to smart to handle. No matter what kind of training we do, it adapts very quickly. Once your body adapts to your current routine it will see no need to lose weight or keep growing.

Each muscle group has a variety of different exercises that can be used to train it. So switch your exercise routine in a few weeks. And don’t cut out the exercise you don’t like! Put one you like and one you don’t like but you have to do it. There’s probably a reason that you don’t like the exercise, maybe your muscles are to weak to handle it, so build it! For example, I hate burpees because I feel like I’m dying but I won’t skip them because for me it’s a high intensity exercise. And after all, if you did the “hated” exercise, you would never regret it.

In the last six weeks I did lose weight, made my muscles stronger and I look much better then before. My belly is almost flat but I wanna get more toned. I did not lose weight only because I train, it’s the combination of training and eating. This weekend I’m gonna make a new training schedule for the upcoming weeks. Do you already switch exercise routine?

My body is precious and I take care of my body as good as possible. For me is eating clean and working out the most important things to feel fit and happy. It may suck not being able to eat your favorite foods all the time but it sucks even more when you feel sick and tired. It’s very important that you make your clean meals delicious because otherwise you will grab chocolate instead of vegetables. This smoothie recipe is not only delicious but also extremely healthy because I use 3 different kinds of superfoods.

Linseed and chia seed are both powerhouses of nutrition. They are also a source of omega 3 fats, which are essential for a healthy heart, brain and immune system. Chia seed has got even more benefits then linseed, but are more expensive. If you want to know more about Chia seed you can go to my chia seed pudding recipe. Because I don’t eat fish, I don’t get the amount of Omega that my body needs. That’s why I eat more linseeds and chia seeds then an average person.

Wheatgrass contains about 30 beneficial enzyme that improve overall healthy functions of your body. They improve digestion, purify blood and utilizing body fat for increased energy. Did you had any vegetables today? One serving of wheatgrass is equal to 800-900 g of vegetables.

Of course I also want you to be healthy as possible, so I will share my recipe. If you want to use wheatgrass also, I would recommend to combine it with red fruit because it will neutralize the flavor. Wheatgrass does smell and tastes like grass…

Superfood Smoothie Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons linseed
  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon wheatgrass
  • 50 grams frozen strawberries
  • 50 grams frozen raspberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 kiwi
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml)  peach nectar

Optional: 1 scoop of protein powder

Superfood Smoothie Instructions

Put all the ingredients into the blender and mix till it’s blended. Because the berries are frozen you will get a delicious cold superfood smoothie, perfect for each time of the day. Enjoy your healthy superfood smoothie!!

Healthy food can be tasty, you only need delicious and healthy recipes, so stay tuned!

Oreo Lemon Merengue Pie for Valentines day

oreo, cookies, pie, lemon, curd, cream, cooking, baking

Every women needs now and then some love! For me it means, food! Delicious cakes, ice cream or chocolate it doesn’t matter, I will be happy. I love to cook healthy but sometimes I just want to eat what my hearts desire. So I eat ones a week something unhealthy, but it has to be worth it. This oreo lemon merengue cake is so delicious it is worth the calories! By the way, cacao powder and lemon are healthy right? 😉 I saw this recipe on passionforbaking and made it my own way.

Oreo Lemon Merengue Pie Recipe

Oreo crust:

  • 200 g Classic Oreo cookies (filling removed)
  • 80 g butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
  • 3 tablespoons regular sugar

Lemoncream filling:

  • 4 eggyolks
  • 50 g butter
  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 large lemon
  • 2 1/4 cup (500 ml) whipped cream
  • 4 gelatin leaves or 2 tablespoons gelatin powder

Merengue topping:

  • 1/2 vanilla bean, seeds removed
  • 2 eggwhites
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Optional: little sprinkle hearts

For the best result you can use a regular 10-inch (26 cm) pie dish. Before you start, preheat your oven to 390˚F (200˚C).

Oreo Lemon Merengue Pie Instructions

Oreo crust

Spray your pie dish with non-stick baking spray. Melt the butter and crush the Oreo cookies finely. Mix it together with the regular and vanilla sugar till it’s blended. Put it into the dish and press the mixture into the base and sides. Place it in the freezer for 8 minutes, then into the preheated oven for 12 minutes.

Lemoncream filling

Put your gelatine leaves into cold water till they are very flexible. Whisk the whipped cream till you get soft peaks. Put   the gelatine with 1 tablespoon of water into the microwave till it’s melted. Then add it to the whipped cream and mix it till it’s blended.

Get a new bowl and make it warm, put the eggyolks, butter and sugar into the preheated bowl except the lemon. Grab the lemon and grate it for half and then cut it in half en press de juice out of it. Add the juice and the grated zest with the eggyolks, butter and sugar and mix it till it’s well blended.

Now you can fold the whipped cream with the lemon curd, don’t whisk to much, you will lose the air. If it’s blended you can put de lemoncream into the cooled pie dish. Put it into the fridge for a minimum of 4 hours.

Merengue topping

Time to serve? Whisk the 2 eggwhites and add every 10 seconds a tablespoon of sugar till the volume is tripled, then add the vanilla seeds and lemon juice. Whisk till you get soft and shiny peeks. If it’s ready you can spread it out on the pie. Valentine’s day is a special day, these sprinkle hearts are perfect for this occasion.

Happy Valentines day!

I just got back from the gym and I want to tell you more about my fitness schedule. But first my total core leather trainers from Nike. They are perfect for fitness because the training shoe is ultra lightweight and features flex grooves to allow the foot to move naturally. They feel so comfortable, I can walk on them all day! If you like crossfit, these shoes will be great for you!

At this moment I train 3-4 times a week to stay in shape because I’m the “curvy type”. My training schedule consists mainly of weightlifting. Weightlifting makes you big and bulky? No, it makes you lean and toned! Weightlifting will help you to increase your metabolism and burn fat. I lift the most heavy weights I can handle within 4 sets and 12 reps. These shoes are not the best weighlifting shoes, so I have to buy new one especially for the heavy lifting. I’m still searching for these kind of shoes, so if you have any idea, let me know!
